The overall objective of the Project is to support the Government of Uzbekistan in reforming public finance towards a more efficient, accountable and transparent system which would contribute to improving welfare and promoting sustainable economic growth.

A round table discussion on ‘Public procurement: current status and ways of improvement’ gathered the representatives of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, ministries, agencies, international organisations and businesses in at the Hotel Dedeman (Tashkent), on the 24thof November.
Within the framework of the plan of works on assistance rendering on the further perfection of budget system of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and also capacity building of experts of financial sphere of the country in October has been organized the study tour for specialists of territorial financial bodies of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Slovenia which has extensive positive experience in budget planning sphere.
On July 11-20, 2011 UNDP's "Budget System Reform in Uzbekistan" Project organized a study tour to Czech Republic on Budget System Reform Experience for 14 representatives of the MInistry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
